Something I just jot down in my journal a few weeks ago..

Staring in the mirror
I see a heart so bitter
Full of lies that prevent clarity
to see the true beauty inside of me

Hidden under false humility
I lost all ability
to search for true wisdom
and to seek first His Kingdom

I looked for answers from the wrong places
And got caught up in the world, in the wrong races

Self-deprecation is not the solution for pride
So think again with your eyes up open wide
True confidence comes from up above
not from other people's love

Stop begging for attention
and yearning for affection
No matter how hard you try
Nothing will ever satisfy,

Other than God's grace
And his loving embrace
