I am very easily convinced. That is the main reason I am writing this right now. It only takes a mere suggestion to get me halfway persuaded... Why?
I like believing. I like believing what friends tell me, what the world tells me, and especially what my puny little brain tells me. But today.. I realized how foolish I am to open my ears to so many lies and believe every single one of them...
... "I can do everything by myself." "I'm smart enough so I don't have to try as hard." "Grades are everything." "I am not the best at anything." "Being rich is not an option, it's a necessity." "In order to be rich I have to become a dentist. In order to become a dentist I have to get into dental school. To get into dental school I have to have an amazing GPA." "Getting good grades is the only thing I'm good for." "My parents will not love me as much if I don't bring them home A's." "They will be ashamed of me if I do not succeed." "I am ashamed of myself."
All of these thoughts went through my head today. Honestly, they still are running around in my brain, whispering to me.. But from now on, I will choose to only believe one thing: I am good enough in God's eyes.
"Somewhere under the stars God has a job for you to do and nobody else can do it."
-Horace Bushnell
Those thoughts may be whispering to you right now, but God is also telling you through those whispers that He loves you, and like you said, you are MORE than good enough in His eyes. You just gotta use selective hearing to hear it ;D
